War of the Liners

I’m a huge user of eyeliner and have been trying to find the ideal one. Over my teenage years I have managed to narrow it down to three!

They’re all completely different types of liner so I guess you can choose whichever one you want depending on what look you’re going for. I’m no make-up expert and I this is only my opinion but here are my top three eyeliners that I have come across and would recommend to anyone!

In third place I’m going to put the Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner from Collection 2000. As much as I love this look I do feel as though it goes on just that little bit too thick and can feel quite heavy. This could be due to the brush that they provide you with, it does seem a little bit too big for its purpose and so I may have to purchase a smaller one in order to get more precision. However the quality of the liner is great and stays on throughout the whole day without a single crack or smudge!

My runner up is the Clinique Intense Black Pencil Liner. This was a lucky find as it was a freebee in one of my mum’s Clinique gifts so I just randomly fell upon it (I don’t normally buy Clinique due to the expense). However, you do get what you pay for and this is a shining example. The application is easy and the liner seems so soft that you can get a sharp line on top of your eye as well as the bottom. Again, this lasts all day without any smudges or cracks and gives a lovely matt finish to your eyes.  I do feel however that it’s harder to do a line on your top lid with pencil than it is liquid which helped my decision in ranking this second place.

This takes you to my winner! The eyeliner I use pretty much every day is the Natural Collection liquid eyeliner. With the brush being so thin and delicate the application is easy allowing you to get the perfect wing and line. The brush allows you to be accurate and the nature of the eyeliner itself gives a sharp matt finish. Throughout the day it does not smudge however it may crack a tiny bit, but nothing too obvious. I find that it is the quickest one to apply and lasts all day which is why I rated this my number one eyeliner.

Which make is your favourite eyeliner? Do you find pencil easier to apply than liquid? Comment below and let me know what you think!

Recent Favourite Buy | New Shoes

So here I am on the brink of going to Uni and what a better excuse than to buy some new school shoes? I found these beauties in the Trafford Centre’s TopShop and instantly fell in love. Since going to Kendal Calling last year and seeing everyone in their oxblood Dr Martens I’ve wanted some. However, I find Docs a bit clumpy for daily wear, great in the snow and winter, but for the summer I wanted something a little bit daintier. I hadn’t seen anything ‘Boot-y’ and oxblood that wasn’t Docs or wasn’t too bulky until now so I instantly had to take the opportunity and get these gorgeous lace ups. I think they’ll be great for trekking around Manchester!

What's your recent favourite buy?

Sister's Graduation | OOTD

My sister graduated with a First Class Honors degree the other day at Leeds University.

It was a strange day, everyone was floating around in their big black gowns, I felt like I was on the set of Harry Potter! The sun was shining for the majority of the day too, making it even better, and everyone’s families were there, suited and booted and looking so proud – it was verrrryy cute.

The day before I’d been to the beach with my friends and at around 5 in the evening I got a phone call from my dad saying that we were going to Leeds that evening instead of the following morning. I rushed home, franticly threw a few things into a suitcase and we headed off.

We stayed at Headingley Stadium which was pretty cool, our rooms over looked the cricket ground.
The ceremony was fun. Everyone looked so serious and fancy in their gowns even the professors were swishing around, the whole pompousness was ace.  I must admit though, I was jealous of some of their hats. I mean dayum, as if they can only wear them at important uni events!

We ate at the Slug and Lettuce for tea and if you haven't been there I totally think you should go. The food is to die for, I'd recommend the cookie explosion for dessert. Heavenly.

In the evening we went to a little jazz bar and hung out there for a while. There was this band playing and everyone was having an awesome time, was a good vibe to round off the day.

My dress was from Lipsy, my sunglasses from Topshop and my shoes were from Dune…

I had a nightmare finding comfy shoes for the graduation. First I bought some from New Look and within the first five minutes of wearing them they had totally torn my ankles apart. They skipped right past the blister stage and just sliced into my ankles making them bleed. Soooo I had to go and buy some more,I pretty much tried on every sandal in town and they either rubbed on the cuts already made or didn’t fit. Then the last pair I tried on were the ones I got. Me and my sister had literally given up but on the way out of town we spotted these and they are soo comfy and real leather, and with them being in the sale, I couldn’t not get them!

Tee and Cake | NASA

Loving my new NASA top at the moment. I bought it a few days ago from Top Shop's Tee and Cake section as a present to myself for revising for my Alevels. I think it's important to treat yourself every once in a while, especially when you're bogged down with college work. A shopping spree on one side of revison and a bath and hot chocolate on the other side tends to soften the blow.

Being a fan of astrology, space and rockets I think this top is awesome! I don't have a lot of t-shirts that have small short sleeves on them either! Not that I can complain, it's my own fault, I tend to chop off the sleeves and the collar of my t-shirts giving them a unique and personalised feel. However, with this tee I'm planning on keeping the sleeves!

The thing I love about Tee and Cake tops is that they come with a recipe for cakes attached to the tab. I think it's such a cute idea. I've not had chance to bake this recipe yet but apparently they make really good cakes - after my exams I will have to try them out!

I must admit the top itself was quite expensive. At £22 I did have to umm and ahh... especially with being a student, it's a lot for a tee. But it was so pretty and such good quality that I couldn't leave it behind, and student discount helped the bank account a little bit!

I'm so glad I bought it in the end and can't wait to pair it with some shorts this summer.

Front, back and recipe on my tee!!
