Art

Hey guys! Sorry I’ve not updated this in a while, I’ve just had so much work to do! On Monday and Tuesday I had two 5 hour art exams in which I had to produce a final piece that all links to my coursework. It was quite weird, I had to do the ten hours in complete silence, but it all paid off in the end! I tried to base my final piece on Andy Warhol, Robert Delaunay, Damian Hirst, Sandhi Schimmel and Piet Mondrian. All together I think I did a pretty good job!

Here’s a picture of it!

The first square says ‘’ アビ‘’ Which is Japanese, but the picture kinda makes it look like PE haha. The idea of it is to show all of my interests on the outside that make up me – which is the square in the middle.

I put my Factory Floor pictures in for my coursework and today my teacher said that either one of them could have been my final piece! So I think my art is quite good at the moment, I just hope the examiner likes it!

Also listen to this! It’s kinda my favourite song at the moment….

Coward and crew

Hey guys! Quick quick update! Joseph Coward has recently got himself a new backing band. It consists of Tim Garratt on bass, Chris Sellers on keys, Noel Andersonon and Sam Davies on guitar and Samir Eskanda on drums. They’re all currently working really hard in the studio on some of Joseph’s songs, and will be supporting the Citizens at The Shacklewell Arms this Friday! Sadly I can’t make it as there are no bus routes that run from here to London! But if you’re free that night then I really do think you should pop on by and support these lovely chaps! Apparently the entry is free, so there really is nothing stopping you!

Check out Joseph’s blog if you want to see the first ‘demo’ of this awesome sextet! And the Facebook page '‘Beach Creep with Citizens and Joseph Coward live’’. They sound really ace and I can’t wait for them to release some new sounds!

Factory Floor goodie bag?

If you remember, at Christmas I drew a picture of my legend Nik Void. I kinda plucked up the courage to send a picture of it to her and got a response straight away saying how much she liked it and asking me if I could draw the other band members, Dom and Gabe. I lived up to the request and sent them to her just recently. She seemed so grateful of them and it is amazing that she has even commented on my work! But not only did she compliment them, she also said that she would send me a Factory Floor T-Shirt.

The packet arrived today and when I opened it there was tons of Factory Floor merch in there, which is so awesome! Happy happy!!

Thanks so much Nik!! :D

The dark I see

Okay, so I thought I’d catch up a little bit on the whole blogging thing. Not much has happened here if I’m honest with you! I’ve been soo freaked out about my art work that all of my time is dedicated to that. We only have two weeks left to produce a decent portfolio and have some idea on what to draw for our final exam, so everything at the moment is cram cram cram!

Luckily I have a few pieces already that will fit perfectly for the exam, so already I have a small head start, but still! I feel like the whole thing is kinda messy, I can’t wait till it’s done so I can finally get my life back, and so I can draw what I want.

Other than art I’ve not been doing much. It was our results day today for some GCSE’s we’ve taken, and we only got one result. This fails as I took way more than one test. It was physics and I got a B which I’m quite happy with, but for the amount of work I put in for it … it sucks. Anyway,  I think we’re finding out our chemistry and English results tomorrow, which is scary!

I’m really into LIGHTS at the moment. It’s kinda a change from what I normally listen to, but she’s so awesome! You should check out some of her songs.

Factory Floor Graphic Novels

Hey guys!

So today I went to a graphic novel lecture where the guy, Gareth, told us how to put together our own comic. See, this has interested me for a while and I’ve come up with a little story of my own which I’d love to turn into a graphic novel. Basically, he said that you needed a story first, then the characters you can build on. He told us to draw the layout of the boxes and just a rough sketch inside of what you want to go on.

His were amazing though! He told us that he’d been unintentionally writing it for around 10 years. But his drawings were awesome. He’s really into drawing dinosaurs too and the way he blends the paints together is just crazy! I wish I had a picture that I could show you guys so you knew what I was talking about!

Other than that, not much has happened today. I’ve just been doing a lot of homework. We’ve been given wayyy too much! It’s insane. And, whilst on the topic of art, my art exam is in 4 weeks. So I really need to get a portfolio of work together! I have a rough idea of what I’m aiming towards, it’s just doing it. I may include the pictures of Factory Floor I drew!

Talking about Factory Floor, you should take a listen to this!

JC

Joseph Coward!
Hey guys, this has just been posted up, I think you should take a look; it’s awesome!
http://hangout.altsounds.com/features/143800-file-o-facts-joseph-coward.html
I have a lot to owe this guy. Not only has he helped me develop my own fanzine, give me an interview and really support it, he’s introduced me to so much music over the short seven months that I’ve known him. I talk to him quite frequently and he is such an inspirational person. He takes time to talk to me, which means so much, and it’s kinda the first time that someone (apart from family) has made me believe in myself.
Not only is this guy great to talk to, his music is also really good! He’s currently signed to O’Genesis and has released many songs (including ‘’If you want to get going get talking to me’’ and ‘’Jesus Christ’’).
If you want to watch this guy grow and release more amazing tunes then you should really buy his records and support him.

Blog to Blog

In three weeks time my sister will be home, which is really awesome; I’ve missed her so much! We came up with this crazy idea of making a list of things for us to do when she arrives home. Basically it’s a small amount of things we are planning to do and as she is so far away we decided to write them all on a blog, therefore we can add to it whenever we come up with an ace idea of an adventure!
Throughout the Easter holidays we will writing about and posting a few pictures of us completing these activities! It will turn out to be really good fun!
If you have any suggestions of what we can do please e-mail them to me at abigailgillibrand@hotmail.com and we will try and complete them! Also, check out the blog! www.easteradventures.blogspot.com
It’s gonna be a blast!
